Graders advocate proper waste segregation

by Mica Mae Galacgac

With the determination to target cleanliness in the campus, the office of the Homeroom spearheaded by Mrs. Regina Ragasa, in cooperation with the Coordinating Board of Students (CBS), relaunched the CLAYGO (Clean As You Go) program of the school last June 27. The CBS officers demonstrated the proper segregation of wastes. The graders were reminded of the different labels of the trash bins. They were asked to sort the wastes according to biodegradable and non-biodegradable. To intensify awareness, volunteers were called to demonstrate how to put rubbish in the trash bins properly.According to Mrs. Ragasa, there is a need to reevaluate and revitalize the CLAYGO program because many graders still fail to observe proper waste disposal. She urged everybody to cooperate in the CLEAN AND GREEN dream of the school. As a support to this endeavor, each section was assigned an area to take care of for the whole year. Moreover, wooden placards that bear cleanliness campaign will be prepared and be posted in different designated places to deepen awareness.
