SPCIS-JPIAN on Fund Run

            JPIAN’s from St. Paul College of Ilocos Sur and University of Northern Philippines have accomplished a fund run activity as the first of the many activities of NFJPIA or National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) enacted by RFJPIA also known as Regional Federation of JPIA. The Fund Run took place in University of Northern Philippines, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur on July 26, 2008.

 

            The activity started with the registration of the delegates followed by the presentation of the RFJPIA officers, the constitution and its by laws and the main purpose of the said activity. “Run for their lives” was main theme of the marathon in cooperation with the GMA Kapuso Foundation. With eighty pesos as a registration fee, 70 pesos went to the foundation, 5 pesos went to the fund of each chapter and the remaining 5 pesos was given back to each delegate as a discount.

 

            About 200 JPIAN’s attended the fund run, the route starting from UNP, proceeding to Plaza Burgos and also finishing at UNP. Ms. Bea, (JPIAN’s-JLU) VP for non academics, also joined and distributed the certificate of appreciation to the participants. Ms. Bea was surprised of the number of the JPIAN’s who attended.

 

            San Miguel Corporation participated and sponsored the mineral water given to every participant before the run. The main event started at 10 in the morning.

 

            Jayson Ignacio (SPCIS-JPIAN 2nd year) garnered the first place in the marathon. He received a cash prize of 800 pesos. The program ended with the distribution of certificate and picture taking.
