The Community Extension Program department aims to successfully held their two anticipated activities for the coming semester with flying colors, as they astutely plan each of its compositions that will transpire at the last month of this year. The activities proposed by the department include are the Rummage Sale program, which is planned to be held at the second Saturday of December and the “Bigay Puso” which will be held first Saturday of December.
The Rummage sale which is a yearly activity during December, aims to dole out charity goods such as groceries and clothing to the marginalized people of our adopted community. This activity is planned to have the morning session as a moment for recollection and afternoon as the time for the event’s main portion the “Rummage sale.” The event also aims to include students and faculty members as facilitators of the activities and the community people from the adopted barangays in which they will be center of such event. This proposed event will be held in the PLC gym, whether it may summer, winter, spring or falls at that time!
The “Bigay Puso” event is also a yearly activity during December which is a Christmas activity for the children of the adopted communities. This event was planned to have the morning session as time for the children to show up their stuffs through small presentations and the afternoon session as the time for the main event of the activity -- which is the “Adopt a friend” program. This adopting program aims to give joy to each child by giving them a special “buddy” (who will be one among the SPCIS students), whom will treat them in various leisure and mingling which is just suitable for their enjoyment. The proposed event will also be held in the PLC gym, by hook or by crook!
These are the major activities so far for the CEP department for the coming semester, and we hope that it’ll transpire safely and successful, for the greater love of God and our neighbor at this coming Christmas time.
